Assessment MethodOverview
Knowledge QuizQuestions such as true/false, multiple choice, matching, drag and drop, or sequencing. Available in Moodle as a quiz.
Short AnswerShort form responses to capture evidence of knowledge and, in some cases, skill application.
Practical Project / ObservationRequires students to complete practical tasks and written work. May involve: short answer questions, roleplay activities, presentations, completion of templates or reports, lab activities, and case studies. Trainers/Assessors may use observation checklists.

Academic Entry Requirements

Standard Academic Entry Requirements:

Students must have the minimum knowledge and skills to study at this level, equivalent to an AQF Level 2 or above. Mature age students may be assessed on relevant work experience.

Career Boost – Workforce Eligibility:

  • Student must be an existing worker and a current or emerging leader in the Community Services and Health industry
  • Students must already hold a Certificate III or higher level qualification in the Community Services and Health industry

General Career Boost Eligibility:

  • Aged 15 years or older and no longer at school
  • Permanently reside in Queensland
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident, or temporary resident with an eligible visa
  • Not currently enrolled in another qualification

LLND Requirements

Students will need to ensure they are able to connect to the internet and have the capability to use our online learning system that meets the minimum technical requirements, which are:

  • Access to a laptop/computer is preferred
  • An operating system supporting the following browsers (current version and up to three most recent versions): Chrome, Firefox, Safari (excluding Safari on Windows), and Microsoft Edge
    • For Windows: Windows 10, 4 Gb RAM installed (minimum)
    • FOR MAC: Mac OS X 10.13 or above
  • Access to Word processing software, such as Microsoft Word
  • Reliable internet connection

Course Costs and Funding Options

This skill set is funded under the Queensland Government Career Boost program. Choose a government-subsidised place if eligible, or enrol on a full fee-for-service basis.

This skill set is funded under QLD Career Boost — a Queensland Government program subsidising higher-level and priority-industry training, managed by the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET).

Upfront co-contribution fees will not exceed 30% of the total fees to be paid for the qualification or skill set. All fees will be charged and collected at the unit of competency level.

To access a subsidised place under Career Boost, a student must:

  • be aged 15 years or older and no longer at school;
  • permanently reside in Queensland;
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with an eligible visa subclass; and
  • not be enrolled in another qualification (foundation skills qualifications do not count).

Skill-set specific requirements:

  • Student must be an existing worker and be a current or emerging leader in the Community Services and Health industry.
  • Students must already hold a Certificate III or higher level qualification in the Community Services and Health industry.

Career Boost is a subsidised program, not a free one. Eligible students pay a co-contribution fee toward the cost of training; the Queensland Government subsidises the remainder. The co-contribution may be paid by you, your employer, or a third party.
