• Organise personal work priorities and development to ensure effectiveness in the workplace

To complete this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in a total of 18 units.
15 of these units are core and there are 3 electives.

Students will be assessed through the following general methods of assessment that may apply for each unit. Each of the selected methods must be completed/deemed satisfactory, as each method is only a partial completion.

• Knowledge questions – a set of written tasks provided to the student required to be completed including, question and answer
• Case study – case study analysis and reports
• Written activity/portfolio
• Role play/Observation/Demonstration Report – Student required to demonstrate tasks directly related to the training package requirements
• Vocational Placement Logbook – record of tasks undertaken in the workplace by the student.

Queensford College will support you to find work placement to ensure you obtain the required industry skills and experience.
CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care course includes professional work placement to be completed of 160 hours.

Students must be able to gain a Working with Children Government Check that is relevant to their state before commencing vocational placement. Any associated costs will be shouldered by the student.

With the growing demand of child care in Australia, students are able to choose a wide variety of settings in both the private and public sector of child care. Students can experience vocational placement in Long Day Care Centres, Pre-schools and/or Outside School Hours Care. For those students who currently work in the industry in a registered organization, vocational placement is offered through the workplace. Students must be able to gain a Working with Children Government Check that is relevant to their state.

To be eligible for work placement you must be able to obtain:

• Working with children check
• COVID Vaccination records/evidence
• National Police Clearance if required by the childcare centre
• Have the ability to undertake a mandatory 280 hours of work placement

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a form of assessment that acknowledges skills and knowledge gained through formal training conducted by industry or education, work experience, and life experience to gain Nationally Recognised Qualification. Credit for previous studies is not recognition of prior learning.

Credit is producing evidence of units of competency/qualifications previously undertaken and successfully completed. Applications for Credit Transfer, must include units of competencies completed, duration of the course and evidence of completion (certificate and transcript or statements of attainment).

Recognition of Prior Learning:

You can use a variety of documentation to apply for RPL. This includes, but is not limited to:

• records of completed training
• assessment items
• assessment records
• declarations from your employer, and/or
• a copy of your student records provided by ASQA.
• If you believe you are suitable for an RPL assessment only pathway, please contact to discuss your options for RPL.

Credit Transfer:

Queensford College accepts and provides credit to learners for units of competency and/or modules (unless licensing or regulatory requirements prevent this) where these are evidenced by:

• AQF certification documentation issued by any other RTO or AQF authorised issuing organisation, or
• authenticated VET transcripts issued by the Registrar.
